skid 1

Acrylic on Vinyl Banner / 72” x 48” / 2025

Skid 1 approaches printmaking through gesture and impact, using the movement of a car tire as both tool and mark. The surface holds traces of force, direction, and friction, where each pass records a moment of contact rather than a controlled image. Built by rolling a tire coated in black paint across the surface, the composition emerges through repetition and variation, creating a field that feels both mechanical and physical. The piece sits between action and imprint, where the act itself becomes the subject, and the result carries the residue of that performance.
