after supper

Acrylic on Vinyl Banner / 51” x 61” / 2025

After supper sits within the tension of a divided and binary world, using the chair as a stand in for presence without action. Rather than choosing a side or opposing it, the work leans into stillness as a form of quiet resistance. The surface is built through aggressive and repetitive mark making using a car grill, creating a dense cross-hatched texture that holds both control and friction. Painted in acrylic on vinyl banner, the piece becomes a space to sit within contradiction, where the act of remaining is more important than resolving.
