sigil 3

Yard Sign / 24” x 18” / 2025

Sigil 3 re appropriates the visual language of military and tactical imagery, drawing from camouflage, targeting symbols, and systems of control while disrupting their authority and function. What is typically used for concealment and precision becomes unstable and exposed as the sigil cuts across the surface, interrupting the logic of control and turning a system built for order into something uncertain and difficult to read. The piece uses a standard yard sign mounted into artificial grass, maintaining the format of outdoor communication while the surface is treated as a drawing field. The sigil is built through repeated motion and layered marks, applied in contrast to the underlying pattern so it cuts through and disrupts the structure while remaining contained within the sign.
