turnpike

Acrylic on Vinyl Banner / 72” x 48” / 2025

Turn pike approaches printmaking through motion and contact, using industrial rubber as both tool and surface to generate the mark. The repeated arcs and overlapping impressions suggest movement that is guided yet unpredictable, where direction emerges through accumulation rather than control. Built through pressing and dragging rubber coated in black paint, the composition carries traces of pressure, friction, and rotation. The piece sits between structure and improvisation, where each mark records a physical interaction and the overall field holds the rhythm of continuous movement.
