assembly
Acrylic on Vinyl Banner / 46” x 46” / 2025
Assembly reflects on presence within a divided and binary space, using the chair as a stand in for stillness held at the center of tension. Positioned within a dense black and white field, the form feels both grounded and exposed, as if it exists within pressure rather than outside of it. The surface was built through repeated impact using a volleyball covered in black paint, creating a dispersed and atmospheric texture that surrounds and isolates the subject. Painted in acrylic on vinyl banner, the piece becomes a space where remaining still is an active choice, holding position without resolving the environment around it.
