where the breath decides

Sculpture / 18” x 24” x 68” / 2025

Where the Breath Decides uses airflow to give movement to an otherwise still body. A fan concealed within the form sends butterflies trembling, circling, and pulling against their wires, creating the impression of something caught between object and organism. The work considers breath as an invisible force, something capable of animating, disrupting, and determining what moves. Rather than performing a fixed action, the sculpture creates a condition and allows the air to decide what happens next.
